Big Bad-Ass Book of Shots

bad_ass_shot_book.jpgWe figured since we're out in Vegas for Harlem's shot drink showcase we should commemorate the day by finding a nice book of shot recipes for our readers to try at home. The Big Bad-Ass Book of Shots contains over 1,400 shot recipes (though probably a lot of them are variations), and seems like just what the doctor ordered if you're looking to slam a few.

Though we have to say - they list the body shot as one of their recipes, and if you need a book to tell you how to do that you probably don't have anyone to do them off. Sorry.

No, seriously, I hate my job. Hire me.

I work in the kind of environment where people tend to frown on things like a bottle of scotch in the desk drawer, and let me tell you brothers, it sucks.

However, a quick search for "shot recipes" on Amazon pulls up a few that may be promising. They all seem to be cheap, under $15 or so.

OK, OK, you got us...we'll stop trying to get you to do our job for free - just hoping you'd found something better!

A better resource, as far as something shot-specific? I don't really know one right off the top of my head, to tell you tht truth.

Put me on the payroll, and I'll sure as hell find you one. Or, in lieu of that, just send booze.

Wow - good to know. That's what we get for choosing a book by its cover. Any suggestions for a better resource?

I've had this book for a few years now... Honestly, not a very good reference. Not bad as far as novelty goes, but this is one of those sorts of drink books where it's pretty obvious that relatively little research was done by the authors. The ingredients and proportions are suggestions, at best. And there are certain shots in here, if made exactly as stated, will turn out absolutely awful. But, hey, it looks fancy on the shelf, right?
