Vegefeuer Herbal Liqueur

We just got a great email about a liqueur we'd never heard of, and here's the snippet we wanted to share:

Yes, yes we are.

When we found that informations, we were impressed. It runs a hot 110 proof, and you're supposed to set it on fire before you drink it. We haven't found anything we didn't like yet. Check out these notes from their Taste page.

The taste character of that fiery liquor is surprising-complex, fresh, stimulating, multi-layered, lasting. Notes of mint, almonds, nuts, vanilla, chocolate are dominating in the foreground as well as multitude of taste allusions with a discrete herbal note in the velvety finish.
The exceptional liquor has a spezial decorative effect when it is offered as a drink flambé. By lighting the liquor roast flavours and caramel notes are unfolded. Period of burning: 30 seconds till 2 minutes are ideal.

That pretty much tears it - we have to get our hands on a bottle of this stuff...and a lighter...and 30 seconds to two minutes.

Fantastic stuff.Not camparable to anything I ever drank before.
The best is the story how they found it. Heard something about found bottles in grandpa's basement. There's some info on http://www.vegefeuer.com/hist.html
