Swine Flu Cocktail: Drink Your Medicine
Been scouring the swine flu-related news lately, wondering when someone is finally going to create a swine flu-related cocktail? So have we. But wait no longer, because writer Robert Haynes-Peterson over at New York Drinks Examiner has finally come through.
His recipe contains absinthe (originally billed as a medicine), tequila (in honor of Mexico, duh), bacon-flavored bourbon (we're guessing it's a homeopathic thing), and limoncello (citrus for the win!). We can only only imagine it tastes like Satan's bunghole, but you know we'll be stocking up on the ingredients post haste because of the medicinal properties.

Swine Flu Cocktail
Created by Robert Haynes-Peterson
Wash glass with splash of Absinthe or Zwack (both were originally crafted as medicinal remedies), discard (or drink) liquid.
* 1 shot reposado or anejo tequila
* 1 shot bacon-infused bourbon (recipe here)
* 1/2 shot limoncello OR
* juice of 1/4 muddled lemon
* (add 1/2 shot agave nectar if you want a sweeter drink)
Shake with ice, strain and serve neat or on the rocks. Garnish with three blueberries on a spear (superfruits!)
Do not share the glass with others!
Sip through straw if you're wearing a blue surgical mask.

Finally someone has given us a solution to an absinthe shortage. Call me crazy...cheap...or Aaron, but I don't keep absinthe or its crazy cousins in the house as often as I do Zwack.
Thanks for the tip and for the credibility!
Aaron
