Virtuoso Reveo Gourmet Cocktail Tumbler

ReveoDrinkTumbling_low_res.JPGWith the skyrocketing popularity of flavored liquors in the past few years, everybody seems to be infusing spirits these days. Heck, we've even played around with infusing vodka and gin ourselves, to mixed results. It's not that it was difficult to do the infusion, we just didn't have the patience to watch a perfectly good bottle of gin sit there and soak up blueberry juice.

Enter the Reveo Cocktail Tumbler. Based on the same technology designed to let you marinate meat in a fraction of the time, the makers of this gadget say it'll cut your mixology time down significantly as well. We don't follow all the technical details in the release, but it has something to do with vacuums and whatnot. However it works, we'd love to experiment with infusing mint right into our julep bourbon or creating our own flavored vodka, or even just use it as a high tech replacement for our handy cocktail pitcher.

Virtuoso is the first automatic home marinator and vacuum tumbler to appeal to wannabe mixologists who can wow friends and family with infused beverages (from lemonades and teas to sangria and spirits) and marinade dinner items in minutes, instead of hours.

Introducing the Virtuoso by Eastman, Reveo Gourmet for the Home Epicurean

The Reveo Gourmet Mixology and Marination Technology makes Serving Elegant Meals in a Fraction of the Time Possible

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - Flushing, Mich., May 8, 2008 --A recent Wall Street Journal report indicates that as food prices rise and restaurant meals in the U.S. become more expensive, consumers may be eating at home more often. The Virtuoso by Eastman's Reveo Gourmet, exclusively available in 27 Williams-Sonoma stores nationwide, could be the season's newest kitchen appliance to turn the dinner party into something as enjoyable as eating out.

Consider that a record 17.4 million grills were shipped in 2007 according to the Hearth, Patio, and Barbeque Association. Grilling now has no seasonal boundaries, as more home chefs choose this healthy cooking method year round.

Additionally the Distilled Spirits Council of the U.S. (DISCUS) predicts that 2008 will be the year of classic cocktail innovation. The trade organization representing producers and marketers of distilled spirits claims consumers are as interested in the technique as they are in the ingredients.

With these grilling and mixology trends, the Virtuoso Reveo Gourmet helps the home epicurean serve elegant meals and infused cocktails in just minutes. One expert in a Los Angeles Times test kitchen proved the Reveo saved 3 hours and 40 minutes compared to traditional marinating methods.

"The Virtuoso Reveo Gourmet is perfect for home chefs who are interested in experimenting with flavors and who want to edge their gourmet game or cocktail creations up a notch. It's also for those who can't wait for the latest year-round grilling tool," says Chef Michael Manno, a Tampa-based consultant who helped develop the Virtuoso Reveo Gourmet and the recipes that home chefs can make with confidence when they use this newest technique.

Another foodie fad is not so much what you make, but the way in which it's made. The Reveo Gourmet is the first automatic in-home vacuum tumbler to stretch and open fibers, and to penetrate fluids for a longer lasting and better saturation of fresh flavors.

The Reveo Gourmet manages these culinary feats in significantly less time than traditional techniques. The result is a deeper flavor for poultry, meat and fish. Popular libations, such as teas, lemonades, sangria and spirits, are appreciably infused with fresh fruits, spices and sugars - more effectively than sun-drenching methods.

Despite higher food prices, DISCUS reports this year that consumers will continue to spend on super premium cocktails. The Reveo Gourmet offers an alternative to spending "premiums" for your favorite sip. Impress friends and family with a cocktail creation at home that puts the premium into the drink instead of taking it from your wallet.

"Whether for grilling steaks or mixing drinks, you can cook a symphony of flavors for friends in the time that it would take to listen to Beethoven's Symphony no. 5. The Reveo Gourmet enhances the preparation of elegant, mouth-watering meals that take only 20-40 minutes, instead of 24-48 hours of traditional marinating methods. While dinner guests wait to be served, aspiring mixology maestros can use the Reveo to infuse beverages with fresh ingredients," says Massimo Baldini, managing director for Eastman Outdoors, the maker of the Virtuoso Reveo Gourmet.

Virtuoso Reveo Gourmet arrives in Williams-Sonoma stores May 20 and well ahead of Father's Day.
