Killepitsch Fruit Liqueur Arrives For Review

Killepitsch Fruit Liqueur GirlThe interns are all abuzz here at the Liquor Snob offices because of an interesting-looking fruit liqueur that arrived on our doorstep this weekend. It's called Killepitsch, and no, we hadn't heard of it either, but the nice folks who sent it along told us they thought we should give it a try since we like Jager so much. You'd think we would have learned our liqueur lesson after the amazing caffeine overload we got from drinking Agwa, but hey - we never said we were all that bright.

We don't know many facts about the stuff other than that it's made in Dusseldorf, Germany, but we were able to dig up a few things. One, it's a combination of 90 fruits, berries, herbs, and spices. Two, it's a whopping 84 proof, which is pretty heavy for a liqueur (Jagermeister comes in at 70 proof, for comparison's sake). Oh, yeah, and three - it's blood red. We're looking forward to staining our teeth with this stuff, and we'll get the review up ASAP.

Meanwhile, you can learn about Killepitsch at the distributor's site.

If you find it "very heavy" in its 42pc alc by vol, try the bavarian Blutwzurz by Penninger. 50pc alc by vol. will make your head feel like filled with lead on the next day. cheers!

It used to be that Killepitsch was only available in Dusseldorf, Germany. I was there for work on a regular basis, and we would always stop by the Killepitsch Bar for a shot or three. I was very surprised to see it in the Duty Free store in Frankfurt last week, and now see that it available in the States.
Don't even try to compare this with Jagermeister, this stuff is in a class by itself. ENJOY!

I had Killepitsch a few years ago. I was in NYC and there was a pair German girls visiting at the same time. I ended up hanging out with them on a roof all night and drinking a bottle of Killepitsch. They say that it's pronounced like kill-a-bitch. Great flavor and definitely does its job well.

I discovered Killepitsch while in Dusseldorph. It is very unique and tasty. I drink about 1 750mL bottle every 4-6 weeks. It is a nice drink to sip and not gulp in one shot. If you want a more enjoyable taste of Killepitsch, put it in the freezer. This is the best way to enjoy.

I just tried Killepitsch last weekend and I was delicious. Usually people drink it after dinner. I went out with some friends of mine in Old Town Duesseldorf and then we went for to a small bar for a shot of Killepitsch. I immediately felt alive and awake again. So of course we went out drinking more to Cubanito's...
